Purpose of Position

This position is located at the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC), an international leader in energy and environmental research, conducting projects for clients throughout the United States and the world. We are looking for confident, scientifically trained, and market-oriented individuals to contribute to the success of the organization by performing one or more of the following functions:

  • Work with research and graphics staff to create and process figures, graphs, charts, and illustrations for use in technical reports.

  • Conceptualize ways to present data through info graphics, charts, graphs, maps, and interactive visualizations.

  • Utilize high attention to detail to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity, and timeliness of processed figures.

  • Develop and maintain a searchable database of figures and info graphics.

  • Produce innovative, accurate, and high-quality work, adhering to EERC branding standards.

Required Competencies

  • Ability to work quickly and accurately with great attention to detail and an eye for consistency.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Computer skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), Internet, email, and web research.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Geography, Data Visualization, Computer Science, or related fields.

  • Experience in graphic design software programs, including Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience creating charts, graphs, or info graphics to communicate technical concepts.

  • Experience creating 3D illustrations and graphs.

  • Cover letter and resume.

  • Successful completion of a Standard Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 or more years professional work experience in data visualization or related field.

  • Experience with federal and contract-funded projects.

  • Experience with 3D Max (or equivalent software).

  • Experience with GIS/mapping technologies, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or others.

  • Experience with Petrel or CMG software.

  • Experience with AutoCAD.
